Alicia Edquist is a multimedia educator and journalist who is always looking to share someone’s story through writing, photography, videography and audio. She has a passion for learning new things about the community that she lives in and covers. She covers stories in the City of Downey, California and Los Angeles area, everything from council meetings to local events.

She has a masters of arts degree in New Media Journalism from Full Sail University and a bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministry from Hope International University.

Her passion for learning translates in the classroom where she works as an instructional lab technician in the Journalism & Media Studies department at a local community college in Southern California specifically with student media outlets.

Alicia has spent the last 19 years working in education in the journalism program. During her time while she attended community college she was Editor in Chief of the Talon Marks Brand.

She is a journalism educator working and teaching students in community college. Alicia also trains students at local journalism conferences in the state of California. She would love to tell stories through her writing and multimedia for local organizations.
